Welcome to my Blog!

Hi everyone!

My name is Chiara and I am an Italian voice actor, actor and singer based in London (UK), born and bred in Rome (Italy). (Daje!)

I moved to London in 2016 - I packed my whole life into a suitcase with a heart full of dreams and a big love for London.

If you are an expat, I feel you. And I know how hard it could be.

Being an expat means you re-create your life from scratch, integrate in a new culture, while a part of you is always anchored somewhere else, the place where you grew up as a child. You miss moments back home, while making new core memories in a new place that you also call home. You live daily in two languages, or more. You belong everywhere and nowhere at the same time, and somehow...that becomes your new reality.

For me it's like carrying pieces of each place inside me, switching languages, homes, people, places, all while living life, making new experiences, making memories, growing up.

It feels like flipping a light switch, and it’s all in me.

Expats are often judged by those who have lived all their lives in the same square metre. Nobody forced them to stay, nobody forced expats to leave.

Leaving and moving abroad is (most of the times) a choice, but it requires:

strength, courage (a lot!), flexibility, adaptability, versatility, self-discipline, self-confidence, organisation, patience, open-mindedness, cultural sensitivity, empathy, curiosity, passion, perseverance, determination, sense of humour, sense of self, kindness towards others and self, purpose, skills.

At some point, you will stop asking yourself: “Do I belong here?” and you will start thinking: “This is how I contribute.” No matter where you are in the world, and at whatever chapter of your life.

Remember, good things take time. And the door is always open to change, as we eventually outgrow ourselves and keep expanding.

This is all coming from someone who is “the girl next door,” who grew up in a small town outside Rome, the daughter of ordinary, not wealthy parents, who moved abroad rebuilding everything from scratch, step by step, day by day, with all the ups and downs, and doing here in London a job that in Italy people used to say: “Oh… and what do you actually do for a living?”

And let me add: you have no idea how many people are bothered by this thing of me being “the small town girl" who had less than them that now has and does things that they don’t.

Please for 2026 remember this:

Clear intentions, massive action.

You got this, and I'm with you!

Thanks for reading, I hope my words helped. I will use this blog to share my experiences (life/work) and insights with you. Hope to talk to you in the comments, feel free to ask me questions below.

Sending love,

Chiara x
